Who is it for?
Young people in their GCSE and A-level years: School Years 10-13, typically aged 14-18.
When is the workshop?
The workshop will be run during the October half term; the sessions will be on the Tuesday and Wednesday i.e 27th & 28th October from 11am to 4:15pm each day. Attendees are expected to be present on both days.
Where will it take place?
It will be held at Rainham Library, 6 Celtic Farm Road, Rainham, RM13 9GP next to Rainham Station on the C2C and served by Bus Routes 103 & 372. The library benefits from easy access to the A13 if you will be dropping your teen off by car.
How will it be delivered?
The workshop will be highly interactive with a range of group and individual exercises. Your son or daughter will have fun whilst developing new skills and there will be lots of opportunities over the two days to practise the new skills being learnt.
What will be covered?
The skills most interviewers are looking for ie effective communication, presentation skills, interpersonal skills, self-awareness and self-leadership. Attendees will learn how to demonstrate these skills on a day-to-day basis as well as in an interview.
Will food be provided?
Light refreshments will be provided each day at the start, at lunchtime and during the mid-morning and afternoon breaks. There is no need for your child to bring their own packed lunch unless they prefer to.
How much will it cost?
The total fee for the two days will be £97. The cheapest early bird tickets (£20 off) are currently available but only a few of these are left. It is useful to note this category of tickets sold out for the February workshop.
Should my clever A** son or daughter attend?
Absolutely. Whichever pathway your teen chooses, they will be facing interviewers very soon. This could be for A-level admissions, university admissions, internships, apprenticeships or graduate schemes. The top-ranking universities and employers mainly have students with excellent grades on their interview shortlist so everyone your child is competing with is at a similar academic level. Other strengths such as excellent communication and interpersonal skills are therefore necessary to place your son or daughter ahead of the curve. Experience shows that those who start to develop these skills earlier in life stand a better chance of clinching the best opportunities.
What will my son or daughter gain from attending?
Each attendee will start to sharpen the skills covered, become more confident and be aware of what is needed to tackle the range of interviews they will likely come across in the next few years. Your son or daughter will leave with a roadmap of how to continue to improve even further.

I have a BSc Hons degree in Chemistry and I’m an ACCA fellow and Project Manager with an MBA from London Business School. I spent about 10 years in senior management roles in the finance and banking sectors and was involved in conducting internship and graduate scheme interviews during the period. I know how the assessment centres are run, the competencies that are tested by top graduate employers and what can be done to develop them. I want to help young people including your son or daughter develop the right skills because I have a passion to see them fulfil their potential.
